A goddess for the mantle

Pietro Francavilla (1548–1615) completed “Venus with a Nymph and Satyr” in 1600. It is one of the finest Italian Mannerist sculptures in the United States, arriving at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in 1934.

424 years after its creation, the statue was scanned and digitally retouched. A limited edition of 100 replicas at 5% scale were 3D-printed in white ultraviolet resin.
