How is this made?
Brass (80% Cu, 15% Zn, 5% Tn)
Using the “lost wax" casting process, NOW Knuckles are printed in tiny wax drops until the shape is complete. It is then put in a container and liquid plaster is poured around it. When the plaster hardens, the wax is melted away, resulting in a mold ― a negative of the NOW Knuckle shape. Molten brass is poured into the mold and hardened. The plaster is broken away, revealing the brass object. It is then cleaned and hand-polished to a brilliant finish.
